Venture Out! For Women

Venture Out! is a social and economic empowerment programme for women who operate SMEs within Guyana. Its development was guided by Goal 3 of the Millennium Development Goals, which speaks to the empowerment of women. This immersive programme offers a compelling combination of practical skills training in all of the key business competencies and mentorship and advisory support for the first year for its participants to ensure the foundations are established to facilitate long term growth.

Participants undergo the following:

  • Initial assessment to confirm the skills gaps of the participants.
  • Training intervention – delivered over a four (4) week period. This includes completion of a project based on a real challenge identified by each participant.
  • Feedback session and presentation forum.
  • Closing seminar and distribution of ITC endorsed certificates.
  • Weekly check-in sessions with each participant  for the first year after workshop.

The Venture out initiative focuses on the practical aspects of running a business. Each intervention is tailored to the specific needs of the participants.

Venture Out! For Women

The diploma in Supply Chain Management is granted to all students who successfully complete all four (4) of the Certificate programmes.  Each module focuses on a specific branch of SCM for which a professional certificate is granted.

Entry requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Experience in the field will be an asset but is not necessary
Here are some of our core areas covered

A series of sessions that provide guidance to entrepreneurs on how to manage business finances efficiently and effectively; underscores the importance of statutory compliance as well as how to utilize accounting information for making intelligent business decisions.   Another important area that is addressed is the importance of maintaining a good credit profile as a means of gaining easier access to financing.

Participants are engaged in a practical workshop which focuses on key skills necessary to help participants craft a marketing and communication strategy appropriate for their product/service.
